As a Bozeman native Tim has benefitted from all that the Gallatin Valley Land Trust has been able to accomplish in the community and is honored to have the opportunity to serve this esteemed organization.
Gallatin Valley Land Trust, founded in 1990, has helped conserve over 50,000 acres of land in Gallatin Valley and the surrounding communities through partnerships with private landowners, using voluntary conservation agreements. In addition to conserving land, GVLT has benefitted the Gallatin Valley through projects such as creating and enhancing over 90 miles of trail system to provide recreation, transportation, and a connection to nature.
“Gallatin Valley Land Trust connects people, communities, and open lands through conservation of working farms and ranches, healthy rivers, and wildlife habitat, and the creation of trails in the Montana headwaters of the Missouri and Upper Yellowstone Rivers.”
Tim Anderson, a Bozeman native, was approached by a friend at GVLT to fill one of their open board positions last fall. After a couple of interviews, he was nominated to join their Board of Directors in January. “I have been aware of and personally enjoyed the tremendous community benefits that GVLT has helped create over the years, from the recent Peet’s Hill project to the ‘Main Street to the Mountains’ trail system to the numerous conservation easements that protect critical wildlife habitat, open space, and agricultural cropland. I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to join and help support a dynamic organization like GVLT during a time of tremendous change in Southwest Montana.”
