Would you benefit with more knowledge to increase profits on your ranch or do you feel out of touch with the latest ranching trends regarding economics, agricultural-business structure and other ranch management practices? Most ranchers know how to raise livestock, but do you know how to build and run a business that raises livestock?  The two are very different.  One resource some ranchers and farmers are utilizing to gain ground is to enroll in the Ranching For Profit School. This school, run by Ranch Management Consultants empowers ranchers to transform their ranches and farms into sustainable businesses. Founded in 1981, the organization, with over 7,000 alumni worldwide, has improved the quality of rancher’s lives, the health of their land and the profitability of their businesses. The course has been offered not only in the United States and Canada, but also in Mexico, Australia and Africa.

The intensive and comprehensive one-week business school for ranchers and farmers is held in different locations which makes it more tangible for busy operations to participate.  Ranchers, the majority from the West – Montana, California, Oregon, Wyoming, Utah, Nebraska, to name a few, as well as Canada take advantage of the course.  Currently registration is open for the upcoming school May 1-7, 2016 in Fort Worth, Texas.  Regardless of the overall class size, smaller groups are formed to  experience a more intimate-learning and hands-on experience. All age groups are encouraged to attend.

Ranching For Profit School has been working with ranches and agricultural businesses for over 30 years and have a lot of knowledge to fit your unique situation.  Instruction on grazing, overhead costs, turnover and analysis of goal setting tend to spark new ways of thinking. The school also touches on the importance of ecology and economics and the crucial role it makes in your operation. Getting participants to look at their business a little differently and implement new strategies, the overall goal is for ranchers to turn a larger percent profit and make the business more enjoyable.

Upon completion of the course, Ranching for Profit School offers an on-going coaching program referred to as Executive Link (EL).  Executive Link is based on the idea that it is always easier to solve someone else’s problem than your own.  In EL, Ranching For Profit School alumni are formed into peer advisory boards.   Alumni can discuss business decisions and consult with each other on business related tactics. There are currently three Executive Link chapters in North America that are located in Billings, Montana, Boise, Idaho and Colorado Springs.
