Located just down the road from Rapelje Bison Ranch and only 14 miles from Locomotive Butte Ranch, sits the small agricultural community of Rapelje, Montana. The town of about 110 residents primarily revolves around farming and ranching. With a small town comes a small high school with an enrollment of only 22 students. These kids, who have grown up on farms and ranches, were excited with the new opportunity to get involved with FFA – Future Farmers of America, a national youth organization that promotes and supports agricultural education. After more than a 40-year break, ag education and FFA are coming back to Rapelje High School. Cali Rooney, a veteran FFA member, and former Montana FFA State Secretary, is excited to rekindle the agricultural program at the school. A graduate of Montana State University majoring in agriculture education, she is fulfilling her dream of becoming an ag education teacher and FFA advisor.
