Swan Land Company is excited to welcome Bill Wood as a sales associate in Montana.  Bill was born in Australia and moved at a young age to Sheridan, Montana in the beautiful Ruby Valley. He was raised on his family’s cattle ranch where he learned the value of a strong work ethic, accountability, and a great love for hunting and the outdoors.

As a young man, Bill was a member of the USA Shooting Team for six years. He traveled and competed all over the world during this time.  His tireless dedication would earn two world championship silver medals. After his travels, he settled back in the Ruby Valley with his wife, Missy, and their children. He has served his community in a variety of ways. He was a member of the school board for 12 years and was recently nominated for the Region 3 Montana Outfitter and Guide Association representative position. Bill is humble and passionate about building relationships, businesses, and community, and exemplifies small-town integrity.

Bill and Missy own and operate an outdoor retail store, RW Outdoors in Sheridan, along with an outfitting business, Treed Up Outfitters. Bill guides all species of big game animals and has had the privilege of guiding the last two Montana Governor moose permits.

In addition to ranching and hunting expertise, Bill prides himself on his extensive knowledge of water rights. He was a licensed well driller for 5 years and the Ruby Reservoir Dam Tender for the past 10 years. He understands the importance and necessity of water rights for ranchers and landowners from a production and recreational standpoint.

Bill and Missy reside in the Ruby Valley chasing five children, chickens, and dogs on their small homestead. They enjoy exploring the outdoors together, cheering on their kids at sporting events, and during the summer you can find them at the lake on the family boat.
